Everything Dr. Chin does
Four groups, ordered by what the visit actually involves rather than by body part: the small procedures done here in the office, laser and skin work, injectables, and the larger operations. Each group opens with a short explanation of what those treatments are for.
Insurance covers care that is medically necessary. Cosmetic and elective treatments, including a mole removal done for appearance rather than for a medical reason, are paid out of pocket. Dr. Chin will tell you which of the two yours is at your consultation, before anything is scheduled.
In-office minor surgical
These are the everyday removals and repairs: a mole you want gone, a cyst that keeps coming back, a keloid or a scar that healed raised or wide. Almost all of them are done in an exam room with the area numbed, and most people are back to a normal day afterwards.
Whether something can be handled here in the office depends on its size, where it is and the risk involved. Dr. Chin makes that call at your consultation, after he has examined the area.
Laser and energy treatments work by prompting the skin to rebuild itself, which is what improves texture, tone, fine lines and scarring over the weeks that follow. Different devices reach different depths, so the right one depends on your skin and on what you are trying to change. Dr. Chin performs these himself.
Laser work is one of the things this practice does most, and it is the kind of treatment that fits into a normal week.

Injectables
Two different jobs. Botox relaxes the muscles that crease the skin, which softens expression lines. Fillers add volume back where it has been lost, lifting cheeks, smoothing folds and shaping lips. Both are done in the office in a single appointment, and Dr. Chin injects them himself rather than delegating.

The operations that need an operating room and anesthesia, from rhinoplasty and eyelid surgery to breast and body procedures. These are planned across a consultation, a pre-operative visit and a recovery period, and they are performed at the surgical centers listed below.
Where surgery is performed
The small things happen here in the office, under local anesthetic, usually in a single visit. Only the larger operations, the ones that need an operating room and anesthesia, go to a surgical center. Those are performed at:
